Family and Conciliation Courts Review

is a place for courts and related

services to exchange ideas, programs, research, legislation, and interesting

and important appellate cases. The

Review

was the first journal to publish

articles on mediation, joint custody, no-fault divorce, change of language,

and a host of other improvements

in

the area of family and the courts. The

journal has an international circulation of over

1,200

in

the United States,

Canada, England, New Zealand, Australia, and other countries.

The

Reliew

is an official publication of the Association of Family and

Conciliation Courts,

an

international and interdisciplinary association of

courts and individuals concerned about court systems and families. The

association was founded

in

California in

1963.

The

Review

is fully peer reviewed. Each article

is

submitted to an inter-

disciplinary panel of three

-

a judge, an attorney, and a mental health profes-

sional

-

for decisions regarding publication. Themes for the next issues of

the journal are articles related to gender and the courts, the need for change

of language

in

divorce, improvements in the resolving of disputes in the

juvenile court regarding allegations of abuse and neglect, innovative court

programs, and recent research. Any material

of

interest to family court

personnel is the chief criterion for selection of articles.

Articles should be no more

than

20

double-spaced typewritten pages

in

length and not published

in

any other journal. The

Review

follows the guide-

lines of the

Publication Manual

of

the American Psychological Association

(3rd ed.). Articles should be submitted to
