CalCPA members lauded.

Three prominent CalCPA members were recently awarded for their contributions and accomplishments related to the profession and their communities.

Dennis Young, managing director/partner-in-charge at RSM McGladrey, is this year's recipient of CaLCPA's Public Service Award, which is given for significant contributions to the CPA profession, CaLCPA and the community. Young has been a part of and served the city of Los Altos, the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, the Los Altos Festival of Lights Association, the Los Altos Community Foundation, the Rotary Club of Los Altos, Santa Clara University and the Housing Industry Foundation.

Young served as CalCPA vice chair (2004-06); a member of the executive committee (1995-96, 1997-2000 and 2004-06); Peninsula Chapter president (1984-85 and 2001-02); and California CPA Education Foundation trustee (1993-97) and president (1995-96).

"I've always tried to be active in groups and organizations that strive to make a difference and I have tried to be involved where my efforts would be meaningful," he says.
