CalCPA Lauds Outstanding Members, Firm.

CalCPA presented the following annual awards at the recent Council meeting in Las Vegas.

Public Service Award: William J. Harrison, CPA is a former mayor of the city of Fremont, where he worked with developers, nonprofits and community leaders to increase the amount of affordable housing in Southern Alameda County, especially for low income, working poor, seniors and veterans. He also brought together Alameda County, nonprofits companies and members of the faith community to open up a warming center serving the most vulnerable in Southern Alameda County.

Firm Public Service Award: Gilbert Associates, Inc. believes in being good citizens, both inside and outside of the office. President Dave Ljung encourages community involvement because it provides a sense of connection and enthusiasm to the people they serve. This is why the firm is involved in more than 50 community organizations.

Distinguished Service Award: Donald A. Driftmier, CPA has been a CalCPA member since 1971 and has been involved in various activities and leadership roles on the chapter, state and national level. In 2004, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Driftmier to the California Board of...
