Applix Inc., a provider of business intelligence (BI) and business performance management (BPM) solutions, has announced the immediate availability of TM1 Web, its new real-time BI solution for its flagship analytics engine, TM1.

Applix claims that its Blshare[TM] technology makes TM1 Web the first application from a major BI vendor that allows users to quickly and easily create real-time Web-based worksheets, or "Websheets," directly from within Microsoft Excel, allowing users to share enterprise data and facilitating forecasting, planning and budgeting through "what-if" analyses.

"It is estimated there are more than 150 million registered users of Microsoft Excel," noted David Menninger, Applix vice president, worldwide marketing and product strategy.
