Special operations troops conducting missions on high-speed rubber rafts now can get an inflatable bullet-proof shield that would protect them in case of a sudden enemy attack.
The shield--called Armorflate--can inflate in 40 seconds, claims the manufacturer, Zodiac of North America, in Stevenville, Md. The bullet-proof material is made by Simula Inc., in Phoenix.
