Of course everybody out there has a Monopoly set, but how many have the new Monopoly City, from Hasbro, Inc., Pawtucket, R.I., where lovers of this traditional favorite can create their own urban oasis? With skyscrapers, stadiums, schools, and sewage plants, players can build it all with actual 3D structures in the center of the game board as they watch their fortunes rise and fall--and hopefully rise again.

The objective, of course, is to buy and develop districts in this metropolis so that you are the richest player standing at the game's conclusion. However, participants first must decide how long to play: either the bankruptcy route or a time limit. Players (two to six) roll the dice and highest roller goes first. Play continues clockwise with each "mogul" rolling and moving his or her token around the board. If the district landed upon is still available, the player may purchase it. If they choose not to buy, it goes to auction and anyone may bid. If the space is not...
