BRITT IMES Chief Deputy District Attorney (San Bernardino County, California).

Britt Imes, is a Chief Deputy District Attorney for the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.

He is a 1994 Graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz and a 1997 graduate of University of the Pacific--McGeorge School of Law.

Britt has been with the District Attorney's Office since 1998 and has been assigned to offices in Barstow, Big Bear, San Bernardino, and Victorville. He has worked in several specialized units including Mentally Disordered Offenders, Narcotics, Juvenile and Gangs. He was the lead Deputy of the Gang Unit in the Desert Division for four years before being promoted to Supervisor in 2010. As a supervisor he supervised various felony trial staff in the Central and Desert offices. He was promoted to Chief Deputy in 2023 and manages the Central Criminal Division in San Bernardino. He continues to act as the office's Capital Litigation Coordinator.

Britt has been a regular instructor for the National District Attorneys Association since 2012. He was a regular faculty member for the Career Prosecutor Course from 2012 through 2019. He has presented on a variety of topics including trial advocacy, evidence, criminal street gangs, gang task forces, ethics, homicide, expert witness evidence, and Constitutional issues. He was a member of the Association's gang committee and is currently working with the Trial Advocacy Working Group.
