Communication is an important cornerstone to the success of a disease management program. Communication should be tailored to:
* Demonstrate the benefit of participating to the employee.
* Make participation enjoyable (many employers offer incentives for employees to participate).
* Emphasize the confidentiality of employees' medical information.
* Communicate continuously and in many forms; communication materials will include payroll stuffers, employee newsletters, general employee meetings and during open enrollment.
