BRECKENRIDGE CHRISTMAS ALE: Breckenridge Brewery has won new converts every winter for the past 10 years. The brewery, founded in 1990 by onetime ski bum Richard Squire, brews about 25,000 barrels of beer annually, about 1,000 of which are its renowned Christmas Ale. The creamy, rich beer is quite drinkable--and it packs a punch. "We call it our winter warmer," said Steve Kurowski, the brewery's marketing director. "It's kind of boozy"--around 7 percent alcohol by volume. Strength aside, Breckenridge Christmas Ale "is not a very complicated beer," he added.
