Brave new world - women and the 21st century.

Women are likely to undergo enormous psychological, cultural, biological, physiological, and even genetic changes over the next millennium, Christopher B. Jones, professor of political science, Eastern Oregon State College, told the World Future Society. "Women in the future may be considerably different from what they have been in the past," he suggested, outlining five possible scenarios:

Continued patriarchy. The status quo will continue, with women in industrialized countries slow to achieve victories in the workplace and those in developing countries still being exploited.

High-tech androgyny. There will be a clear separation between sexual recreation and human procreation. Technological advances will allow children to be "designed" from the best genetic material and then gestated in artificial wombs.
