Brady-Lunny v. Massey, 185 F.Supp.2d 928 (C.D.Ill. 2002). A publisher, newspaper, and reporter brought a state-court action against a county sheriff, seeking information regarding inmates held in a county jail, pursuant to the provisions of a state Freedom of Information Act. The United States intervened to protect information about federal inmates being held at the jail and the case was moved to federal court. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendants.
