Boyan Jovanovic has been a Research Associate in the NBER's Program on Productivity since 1991 and is a professor of economics at New York University.

Jovanovic received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. He became an assistant professor of economics at Columbia University in 1977.
