Bosch is spending $45 million to expand its Anderson County operations.

The company said more space is needed to accommodate business growth, but did not say how many new jobs the expansion will bring or when construction begins, according to a news release.

The Bosch Anderson facility was founded in 1985 to produce fuel rails and has added production capabilities from a number of Bosch divisions since then, the release said. The company employs 1,200 in Anderson County and its products are found in vehicles including powertrain solutions, automotive electronics and car multimedia.

Located at 4421 S.C. Highway 81 in Anderson, the company's expansion will include new manufacturing capabilities to support its mobility solutions business in North America. Bosch is purchasing an adjacent property previously occupied by a Bosch joint venture, according to the release.
