the Max Planck Institute. Three of the essays

in German.

Each

substantive sectionof this

book-on

the law of copy-

rights, patents, trademarks,

unfair

competition, and cartels

-begins

with from twotofive essays about various relevant

aspects of German law. Except in the case oftrademarks,

each continues with from two to six essays on thelawsof

countries outside Germany. Each, except the

part

about the

law of

unfair

competition, then concludes with one or more

essays about international law and the lawof relevant inter-

national conventions.The book's

last

two sections contain

five essays about certain problems of procedure and four

about certain problems of public policy.

The essays

are

brief, and have considerable scatter in

subject matter. Most of them

are

of highquality.
