The author is editor of the Revue des Societes and mem-
ber of the faculty of the University of Paris. The book is a
comprehensive guide to procedures and substantive provisions
relevant to rules about competition in the Common Market.
It
is concerned with the bases and limits of jurisdiction, proce-
dures in invoking and applying the various forms of action
by the Commission, and statements of the substantive con-
tent of important provisions of the
treaty
and of the under-
lying rules and of decisions by the Commission and the Court
of Justice. Where possible, Common Market action is com-
pared with action in similar matters in the United States.
Appendices include the texts of important provisions of
the treaty, and of the Commission's rules about Articles 85
and 86; statistics about proceedings through 1969; and lists
of relevant decisions by the Commission and the Court of
Justice through
February
1971.
