Blythewood rezoning proposals to be discussed at meeting.

Blythewood area residents will have the chance to learn more about proposed rezoning of three properties at an upcoming town hall meeting organized by Richland County Councilwoman Gretchen Barron.

Barron, who represents District 7, will team up with planning staff and developers to advise residents about rezoning requests at the meeting, set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at Killian Park, located at 1424 Marthan Road in Blythewood.

"The purpose of the session is to give residents an opportunity to drop in, personally hear from the developers, and ask questions," Barron said.

Rezoning requests up for discussion include a request to rezone 55.2 acres on Wilson Boulevard near Interstate 77 from commercial/industrial to mixed use to allow for both single-family and multifamily residential use; a request to rezone 8.63 acres at 9200 Wilson Blvd. from rural to neighborhood...
