Bill to create driverless car task force becomes law.

Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law Monday legislation that establishes an autonomous vehicle task force sponsored by Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean.

Kean's bipartisan resolution, Senate Joint Resolution 105, creates the New Jersey Advanced Autonomous Vehicle Task Force. As a result of the law, a task force of 11 members will assess advanced autonomous vehicles and make recommendations on laws, rules, and regulations that New Jersey may enact or adopt to safely integrate advanced autonomous vehicles on highways, streets, and roads.
