Your symposium ("Is Free Speech Under Fire On Campus?" May/June 2016) was very instructive, within the framework of First Amendment rights and general civility. But I can't help wondering how the issue would have been handled in your "Ask the Rabbis" section. I suspect that the rabbis would have invoked several Talmudic principles and teachings, including avoiding lashon bara (evil tongue), which refers to true statements that nevertheless harm, embarrass or lower the status of the person being discussed; avoiding motzi shem ra (giving another a bad name), which entails making false, derogatory statements about another person; kavod...
