With NFL training camps opening last month and the preseason schedule beginning this month--and the NCAA gearing up for yet another pigskin campaign to determine a national champion--the personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on 2017's Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans.

To identify the best cities for grid enthusiasts, WalletHub analyzed 244 U.S. cities with at least one college or professional football team, based on 17 key metrics, ranging from the number of NFL and college teams to average ticket prices.

The 10 best cities, starting at No. 1, are Green Bay, Wis.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; New York; Dallas, Texas; Boston, Mass.; Seattle, Wash.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Glendale, Ariz.; and Minneapolis, Minn.

The 10 worst cities, from the bottom up, are Davidson, N.C.; Pine Bluff, Ark.; New Britain, Conn.; Lexington, Va.; Amherst, Mass.; East Hartford, Conn.; Valparaiso, Ind.; Cape Girardeau, Mo.; DeLand, Fla.; and Worcester, Mass.
