New 'ask your banker ...' consumer education brochures launched by ABA.

A NEW SERIES OF CONSUMER EDUCATION BROCHURES designed to protect and educate bank customers has been introduced by the ABA. The brochures are offered through an interactive Web site powered by Linemark, based in Upper Marlboro, Md.

The new brochures, written and vetted by ABA staff experts, include the most current information available from hank regulators. They can be mailed with bank statements, displayed at teller windows or handed out to drive-through customers.

The ABA education brochures have proven to be an inexpensive way for bankers to reach their customers, according to Laura Fisher, executive director of the ABA Education Foundation. "The brochures are a quick read and arm customers with the information they need to avoid scams and financial mistakes."

The brochures are available in the following 10 subject areas:

* ATM safety.

* Identity theft.
