Bank headquarters officially changed to Greenville.

Greenville today is the official home of United Community Bank. Following several years of growth in South Carolina, the formerly Georgia-based bank announced its intent to make Greenville its corporate headquarters in February.

"Greenville provides an excellent place for our company to continue our plans for strategic growth," Lynn Harton, chairman and CEO of United Community Bank, said in a news release. "As we've increased our operations here over the past nine years, we're continually impressed with the strong public-private partnership that helps to thoughtfully grow this community. More importantly, this vibrant community is an excellent place for our employees and their families to live and provides a great opportunity for future recruitment."
