Greenville'sHomes of Hopeand Spartanburg'sNorthside Development Groupwere selected among 357 applicants to receive a grant as part of theTD Charitable Foundation's annual affordable housing assistance program.

Selected along with 33 organizations, Homes of Hope was awarded $175,000 and the Northside Development Group, a community development organization that serves Spartanburg's neighborhood of the same name, was granted $150,000 for their efforts to mitigate the Upstate's shortage of affordable housing.

The TD Charitable Foundation serves as the charitable giving arm ofTD Bank, which awarded $5.8 million to similar nonprofits across the bank's Florida-to-Maine service area, according to a news release.Since 2005, the TD Charitable Foundation has given more than $42 million to nonprofit and charitable organizations through the Housing for Everyone grant competition and has helped support more than 500 affordable housing projects and initiatives.
