Baltimore-Washington Chapter plays ball at Nationals Park.

On June 7, 2012, the Baltimore-Washington Chapter hosted its final CPE event of the year at Nationals Park, home of Major League Baseball's newest team, the Washington Nationals. The educational portion of the meeting was held in one of the stadium's conference rooms and featured speakers from Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, who provided an international tax update, and Pepper Hamilton LLC, who presented on the IRS's new tangible property regulations.

The group also received an update on the Baltimore-Washington Chapter's activities during the year. The chapter hosted several two-hour morning CPE events in Baltimore and Bethesda, Maryland, and McLean, Virginia, as well as an all-day Tax Education Day event. More than 17 CPE hours of education were offered to members during the year.

In addition, the chapter funded two $5,000 scholarships to students in the M.S. Taxation programs at American University and the University of Baltimore. At the conclusion of the meeting, incoming Chapter President Andy...
