Infrastructure maturity in advanced data, voice and the Internet have bridged the gaps in global locations, enabling BPO to quickly become a global delivery model. While many approached BPO initially for its cost benefits, they now realize the additional benefit of leveraging the best available talent globally. We are beginning to see that mature BPO vendors are no longer seen as like-for-like-for-less providers, but rather as truly invaluable partners--partners who not only service the fundamental needs of life-blood clients but also provide transformational capabilities, such as targeting and gaining new clients, growing services and a way to build their companies faster. Of note, non-traditional BPO areas being supported by these firms include supporting mergers and product launches. Utilizing a BPO firm's global capabilities mean integration and delivery are no longer restricted to a business's internal capability.
