Attendance soars at FEI Canada conference.

More than 500 financial executives attended FEI Canada's Conference, "Cresting the Wave," held in Halifax on June 6-8, making it FEIC's most successful conference ever.

In addition to educational content, attendees enjoyed golfing at Glen Arbour, as well as various local activities and social events. The closing luncheon--featuring the former Canadian Ambassador to the U.S., Frank McKenna,--was lauded by many as the highlight of the conference. Besides the attendees, almost 200 local business leaders attended the closing lunch.

Also this year, long-time FEI Quebec member Robert Normand was honored with the inaugural Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award, and Michael Gibbins and Bradley Pomeroy of the University of Alberta received the first CFERF (Canadian Financial Executives Research Foundation) award.

Continuing a tradition of celebrating excellence, the conference opened with Canada's 2006 CFO of the Year Karen Maidment (of BMO Financial Group)...
