New Orleans is a city of nicknames. Among them are the following--The Crescent City. The City that Care Forgot. The City of the Chefs. The City of Mystery. Sin City. Saint City. The Cradle of Jazz. And, of course, the Big Easy.

While the Internal Revenue Code had defied the word "easy" for decades, it does have a reputation for categorizing taxpayers as either saints or sinners.
