University ATM offers students basketball tickets, personalized services.

When students at Villanova, go to the university's field house, they can use an ATM that allows them to withdraw cash and to experience "customized banking .services designed specifically for them."

Among other things, the ATM provided by NOVA Savings Bank, Philadelphia, is a distributor of student basketball tickets--thus helping to relieve congestion at the university's box office. NOVA Savings Bank has four locations and assets of $330 million.

The ATM is a Fijitsu Series 8015 enhanced with a product called Prism 1:1, which was co-developed and co-branded by Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., Frisco, Texas, and mCom Financial Solutions of Philadelphia. The Prism 1:1 ATM enhancements are intended for community or regional financial institutions that want to differentiate themselves from competitors.

In addition to concert/event ticket dispensing, the Prism 1.1 features name display; frequent withdrawal preference; displayed account balances; data and event reminders; stock market, sports or weather updates; statement history and email transaction receipts.

Literally wrapped in a NOVA/Wildcats banner, the dual-screen ATM displays Villanova sporting highlights and NOVA banking information on the upper screen in stylized video clips.

For every home game, the university reserves 1,500 basketball tickets for its 6,100 students. These tickets are distributed via an online campus lottery, offering every student an equal chance to attend the games. A flat fee for football and basketball tickets is added to all student tuitions.

At the beginning of the "hoops" season in December, the ATM unit begins dispensing the pre-printed basketball tickets. To pick them up, lottery winners simply swipe their student identification cards through the ATM's card-reader, replacing the lines, lists and resources necessary to...
