Atlanta chapter holds planning meeting and monthly luncheons.

On August 12, the Atlanta chapter held its annual kickoff meeting at UPS World Headquarters. Winifer Tong, chapter president, presided. In attendance were chapter officers, board of directors, and committee chairs. Numerous topics were discussed including how to incorporate TEI's 2011-2012 priorities into the local chapter, initiatives to increase membership, future meeting topics and dates, and chapter scholarship news. On September 20, Robert S. Chase II, a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, was the guest speaker for our first luncheon of the year. The topic of the meeting was "Let's Make a Deal--Tax Considerations in Due Diligence and Documentation of Mergers and Acquisitions."
