Atlanta Chapter blows the roof off! Holds record-setting CPE event.

On May 9, 2012, the Atlanta Chapter held a full-day seminar covering various federal and state tax topics presented by Ernst & Young. The event was a huge success with more than 150 tax professionals in attendance, making it the highest attended event ever for the Atlanta Chapter! Congratulations to all involved in planning and managing the meeting.

The first session of the day included a panel discussion on accounting for income taxes, specifically covering legislative developments, tax controversies, corporate governance, regulatory focus on transparency, and the auditing environment. The members of the panel were Adam Bean, Priyanka Chaudhry, Angela Evans, and Laurie Shimp. The next topic was international tax developments, including proposals to move from a worldwide to a territorial tax system. It was presented by Steve Stoffel and Jurjan Wouda Kuipers. Alison Jones and Jeremy Litton presented on the new tangible property regulations including procedural guidance and the implementation process.
