Association Welcomes New Board, Executive Committee Members.

The National Defense Industrial Association appointed Michael Bayer, president and CEO of Dumbarton Strategies, as the new chair of the organization's board of directors. His two-year term began Oct. 1.

Bayer holds leadership roles on numerous corporate boards and has extensive experience in industry. He served every secretary of defense from Bill Perry to Mark Esper and has been recognized for his contributions with the Defense Department's highest civilian awards: four Defense Distinguished Service Medals, two Navy Distinguished Service Medals and one Army Distinguished Service Medal.

Bayer succeeds Arnold Punaro, CEO of The Punaro Group. Punaro will continue to serve NDIA for two years as its chair emeritus, as well as chair of NDIA's nomination and governance committee and chair of the advisory board of the Emerging Technologies Institute.
