Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is this year's recipient of NDIA's Dwight D. Eisenhower Award.

Dunford is recognized for his more than 40 years of service to the country, beginning with his commission in 1977. His storied career includes serving all levels of infantry, leading regiments in Operation Iraqi Freedom and guiding the Marines Corps at the service's highest echelons, including as the 36th Marine Corps commandant. Dunford became the 19th Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman in October 2015.
