Association Backs WWII Commemorative Flyover.

About 170 vintage military aircraft will take to the skies over the nation's capital next year with the support of the National Defense Industrial Association.

NDIA is among roughly 30 organizations backing the Arsenal of Democracy 75th World War II Victory Commemoration Flyover, scheduled for May 8, 2020, in Washington, D.C. The event will mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, also known as VE Day. The aircraft will soar over the National Mall, including the National World War II Memorial.

The flyover will include dozens of World War II aircraft flying in 24 historically sequenced warbird formations. The formations will represent the war's major battles, from the Battle of Britain through the final air assault on Japan and conclude with a missing-man formation.
