Associated General Contractors honor top projects: name Safety and Hard Hat Award winners.

The state's largest construction organization, the Associated General Contractors of Alaska (AGC)--celebrating its 60th year of construction in Alaska--recognized its top construction projects, safety programs and individuals during the association's annual conference in Anchorage. Nov. 11 to Nov. 14. Phil Anderson of Fairbanks, AGC president in 2003, was named winner of the prestigious Hard Hat Award for 2008. The Hard Hat Award is given annually to an AGC member who has demonstrated exemplary service to the association, the community and the industry. Anderson owns the Phil Anderson Co., but was previously with Exclusive Landscaping and Paving Inc.

In the Alaska USA Insurance Brokers-sponsored Excellence in Construction Awards, Davis Constructors and Engineers Inc. of Anchorage won "Meeting the Challenge of a Job--Buildings Over $15 Million" for the Providence Alaska Medical Center Creekside Campus Expansion.
