I read your interview with Gale Norton ("Gale Force" August). Allen Best wrote, "Norton may well be the most powerful politician Colorado has produced." A little more research into former Colorado politicians (would have revealed that former U.S.) Rep. Wayne Aspinall will make Gale Norton appear much smaller in scope of influence. Aspinall was the leader of the House coalition composing the Colorado River storage act in the 1950s. He is also known for his involvement in the creation of the Wilderness Act signed into law in 1964.
