In Anne Elizabeth Moore's article, "Where We Come From," (October issue), I find artist Emily Jacir's indignation rather silly. Let's see, she wanted to put signs in Arabic next to the Italian signs along the Venice Grand Canal, and the city objected. Does she think Venice would allow such a thing if the signs were in English or French or German? I doubt it.
