Northern Utah

Ogden--The CHRISTMAS BOX HOUSE INTERNATIONAL has unveiled the site of a new Ogden shelter for abused and neglected children, its fourth Utah project. Harmons Grocery stores and Utah Lions Clubs raised $16,025 for the project.

Ogden--CASE, LOWE & HART, INC. was recognized as the top manufacturing facilities architect and one of the 50 top regional architects in Architecture and Engineering Quarterly's 2002 annual rankings, based on surveys of firms in Utah, Colorado and Idaho.

Clearfield--ATK has been awarded a $13 million contract to supply Vought Aircraft Industries, Dallas, composite parts for the Global Hawk unmanned aerial reconnaissance system. ATK Composites, Clearfield, will be responsible for overall management of the Global Hawk program as well as tooling design. Production options could raise the total value of the contract to $92 million by 2010.

Altamont--Utah businessman Dan Phelps has purchased FALCON'S LEDGE, a fly-fishing and adventure lodge in the Uinta Mountains. Phelps' Baer Canyon Development owns The Alaskan Inn in Ogden Canyon, Ruth's Diner in Emigration Canyon and several other businesses along the Wasatch Front.

Layton--RE/MAX ELITE has more than doubled the physical size of its Layton office to over 12,000 square feet, making it physically the largest office in Davis and Weber counties.

Ogden--KIER CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION is building the new Saint Joseph Catholic High School Fine Arts Center, designed by Salerno Bertoldi Architects. The 25,000-square-foot building is part of the largest expansion in the school's history. The center is expected to be completed this summer.

Layton--FORTHGEAR has been chosen to provide creative direction for the interior of a new McDonald's restaurant located adjacent to the St. Louis Rams training facility, along with providing printed collateral and consulting services for the new location.

Ogden--R&O CONSTRUCTION was awarded the "Outstanding Small Public Building Project-Best of 2002" award by Intermountain Contractor magazine. The project submitted was the Ogden Public Works Complex at 133 West 29th St. in Ogden. The award will be presented this month.

Salt Lake City--The UTAH JAZZ have made an agreement with Ticketmaster to launch Ticketmaster TeamExchange. TeamExchange creates an online forum for the jazz's season ticket holders to sell their unused tickets to other fans, opening up some of the Delta Centers best and previously unavailable seats to the public. In addition, the jazz and Ticketmaster have installed Ticketmaster's AccountManager service for season ticket holders, enabling them to manage and renew season tickets online, make payments online and forward tickets to another person electronically when they are unable to attend a game.

Salt Lake City--The LASSONDE NEW VENTURE DEVELOPMENT CENTER, designed to bridge the gap between technology and business at the University of Utah, has officially opened. The center takes the most promising new technologies being created at the University of Utah and helps the creator develop a business around his or her technology, It has also attracted nationally renowned researchers, business professionals and students to its board of directors and management team and as client companies.

Draper--DENTAL SELECT, Utah's largest dental benefits provider, has been selected by Snowbird Corporation and Weber County School District to provide dental benefits for their 2,500 combined employees. Dental Select administers and manages dental benefits to over 3,000 companies, totaling over 200,000 members nationwide.
