When it comes to records management in the federal government, ARMA International members want government to better understand the impact of emerging technologies, the corporate culture, and outsourcing on the profession. These concerns were the basis of a letter dated February 1, in which ARMA commented on the National Archives and Records Administration's (NARA) Report on Current Recordkeeping Practices within the Federal Government.

NARA's project documented the current recordkeeping and records use environment in federal agencies and intends to use that information to analyze NARA's records management policies and to redesign, if necessary, the scheduling and appraisal process.
