Arizona Chapter: the heat is on--but it's a dry heat!(Chapter News ...)

The officers of the Arizona Chapter met during the summer of 2011 and decided to shake things up. Given the chapter's small size, its meetings have historically been one-hour breakfast sessions with the exception of a full-day SALT seminar. This year from the get-go the chapter decided to do things differently. A membership survey sought feedback on possible areas of improvement, including what the chapter can do differently to increase attendance. The answer was clear: In these tough times, the chapter needs to offer CPE for local events and ensure that there is much "bang for the buck."

The chapter started off with two-hour meeting hosted by PricewaterhouseCoopers at its offices in downtown Phoenix on Methods and Audits, two topics you cannot go wrong with. In November, the law firm of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan presented a full-day seminar on SALT topics from cloud computing to state appeal process to a packed training room. The event was hosted by one of the local companies, APS.
