When the holidays come around, Playmobil always warrants our attention. For one, it's a blast to see what its annual Advent Calendar will look like. Moreover, there always seem to be some great toys that delight our little guy.

This year's Advent Calendar is available in three versions: Pirates Treasure Cove, Princess Wedding, or Forest Winter Wonderland. Since we already had chosen to put the Playmobil Pirate Ship under the tree (more about that later), we went with the Winter Wonderland ($19.99), which contains 24 surprise items for each day of Advent, and includes a backdrop, Santa, sleigh, mother and baby fox and deer, raccoons, rabbits, birds, and other accessories to help complete this woodland Christmas scene.
