#1: REARRANGE PARAGRAPHS AND TABLE ROWS

Q What is the easiest way to rearrange rows in a table ? I've been trying to cut and paste them buthalf the time the rows I paste end up inside other rows rather than above or below them.

A I'm glad you asked, because this brings up my absolute favorite MS Word keyboard combo.

• To move a row up or down in a table:

1. Click anywhere in the row (or select multiple rows) to move.
2. Press Shift+Alt+Up Arrow/Down Arrow. The row(s) move up or down in the table. (I find it's easiest to press Shift+Alt with my left hand and up arrow/down arrow with my right.)

When you use this technique to move a single row or paragraph up or down in a document, you only need to have the insertion point anywhere in the row or paragraph to move. When you're moving multiple paragraphs or table rows, you only need to ensure part of the first and last paragraph or row are included in your selection. You do not need to select the entire paragraphs or rows.
