CalCPA Leadership Institute grad Okorie Ramsey, CPA is off and running with his newfound skills and knowledge. The managing director of SOX and financial governance for the Northern California Region of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals recently began a two-year term on the CalCPA Education Foundation Board of Trustees' finance committee.

What are you getting out of the experience?

Serving on the board has been a great way to give back to the accounting profession, which has provided many rewards within my life--personally, professionally and financially. I also appreciate that I can leverage my experiences from serving on the boards of the National Association of Black Accountants and the Accounting Career Awareness Program to further the common goals of all three organizations.
