Banks

Cynthia B. Armstrong has been appointed senior vice president, marketing, at American Savings Bank of New Britain, Conn. She joined the bank in 1995 as communications and public relations director. American Savings has 17 branch offices in 12 Central Connecticut communities.

Carol D. Huether has been named marketing officer at Great Basin Bank of Nevada. She will be in charge of new business development and marketing for the bank and for Great Basin Financial Services.

CompuBank.com has named Terry F. Puster senior vice president and marketing director. Puster's prior management experience includes service as senior vice president and marketing director at One Valley Bancorp in Charleston, W.Va., and vice president, retail marketing manager, at Texas Commerce Bank, a Chase Manhattan subsidiary based in Houston.

Michael P. Nomura has been named vice president and banking officer in the Fullerton, Calif., office of Citizens Business Bank, David. G. Morris has been named vice president and banking officer of the bank's Corona, Calif. office. Citizens Business Bank has 30 offices in San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

David Thorne has been appointed vice president for commercial loans at Manufacturers Bank in Los Angeles. Thome previously was integral in opening a new office in Ontario, Calif., for Comerica Bank. Manufacturers Bank, a subsidiary of The Sakura Bank, Ltd., has assets of $1.1 billion and operates 10 regional banking centers in California.

Rod Woodward, who supervised the conversion training at AmSouth Bank after its merger with First American Corp., has been appointed e-commerce director. Woodward, a senior vice president, came to AmSouth in 1994 following 13 years with Bank of Boston. AmSouth, based in Birmingham, Ala,, holds assets of S39.4 billion.

Aida Castro has been promoted to assistant treasurer and manager in the Paramus, NJ., office of Interchange Bank. Previously, she had been assistant manager in the bank's Elmwood office. Interchange Bank is based in Saddlebrook, NJ.
