With the end of the 2001 summer visitor season, the Alaska Native Heritage Center's attendance has already surpassed the record levels established in 2000. More than 95,500 visitors and residents visited the center from May 12 through Aug. 31, exceeding the 2000 attendance level by nearly 300. Based on modest attendance projections, attendance levels this year should easily exceed 105,000, for a growth rate of more than 10 percent.
