Los Angeles Chapter Recaps Year.

The Los Angeles Chapter began the fiscal year with its monthly dinner meeting September 30 at the Jonathan Beach Club in Santa Monica. Randolph F. LeVan, Jr. of Conexant Systems, Inc., 1998-1999 Chapter President, offically passed the gavel to Patrick J. Ellingsworth of ARCO.

Chapter's 1999-2000 Full-Day Seminars

The chapter continued its successful seminar program by sponsoring four full-day seminars, having average attendance of more than 100.

Joint IRS/TEI Meeting

On January 11, a joint IRS/TEI meeting coordinated by Institute Director Dan Laksfoss of Litton Industries, Inc. was attended by 30 representatives of the IRS and corporate taxpayers. Ed Mieszerski, International Branch Chief and LMSB Transition Coordinator, discussed the IRS reorganization and its effect on large and midsize taxpayers. There followed round table discussions of the various implications of the IRS reorganization.
