Tax Adminstrators' Night/Annual Meeting

The highlight of the Los Angeles Chapter's 2007 fiscal year was the Annual Meeting and Tax Administrators' Night, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on June 7. John Chiang, California State Controller; Selvi Stanislaus, Executive Officer of the California Franchise Tax Board; Paul Cordova, LMSB Director of Field Operations; Michael Walker, area director, STCL Operations; and Shirley Grimmett, TEI Tax Counsel, spoke on recent developments and key issues in their areas.

The officers and directors for 2007-2008 were elected with Jacqueline S. Crouse elected to succeed outgoing President Caleb B. Standafer, Jr. A reception and dinner followed. For the eleventh year, the Chapter awarded two scholarships. The recipients of the $3,500 scholarships were Fahim Farirar of the University of Southern California and Pandelis Chryssostomides of Golden Gate University.

Annual Planning Meeting

In July the officers and Board of Directors met at the Duke's in Malibu to plan the Calendar for 2007-2008. Following are the dates and topics of the full day seminars planned by the Chapter for the year:
