Anderson University launches student investment fund.

Anderson University Center for Finance and Economics has created a $30,000 student-managed investment fund for 11 different equity sectors.

Students will monitor and report on the fund to Kent Saunders, program director and faculty advisor, as well as the CFE fund committee, enabling students to engage in shareholder advocacy and impact investing beyond the classroom, according to a news release.

"The use of real money gives students the additional responsibility to act as stewards on behalf of their clients," Saunders said in the news release.

Center of Finance and Economics Director Gordon Smith echoed in the release that the program will give students a leg up after graduation when applying for jobs or graduate schools.
