Jodi Anderson had just finished secretarial school when an opening appeared in the patent department at Michael Best & Friedrich. She joined the firm in 1979.

Since then, she has risen through the ranks to become the "go-to member" of the firm's intellectual property group.

As intellectual property administrator, Anderson helped establish the firm's annuity department and handles everything to do with maintenance and annuity fees for more than 80 of its clients. She helps with all of its U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution, dealing with applications filed in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and international patent offices.

In addition, Anderson responds to actions and letters issued by the USPTO and international patent offices and is responsible for preparing declarations and property documents. She also handles communications and correspondence with clients and global business associates, seeking to manage and maintain international patent filings and related matters.
