Anderson company to hire 50 after $9.5M expansion.

Sargent Metal, a custom metal fabrication company based in Anderson, has announced plans to expand operations. The $9.5 million project is expected to make way for 50 new jobs over the next five years, according to a news release.

Recently celebrating 45 years in business, Sargent Metal provides precision metal fabrication, welding, powder coating and assembly services to leading original equipment manufacturers in a variety of markets, the news release said.

"We are proud to be a family-owned business born in Anderson, S.C., and are excited for this new phase in the growth of Sargent Metal," company president and CEO Tim Hayden said in the release. "We look forward to the creation of new job opportunities for our community and additional capabilities with which to serve our customers with excellence."
