Spring is finally in the air--it feels like things are stirring, growing, changing. Hidden potential is ready to burst out everywhere, whether it's blossoms on the apricot trees or the sparkling ambitions of new college graduates. It's in this spirit that we're pleased to introduce two new awards programs, which are both featured in this issue of Utah Business. These programs are the first additions to our lineup in some time, and we're excited to bring something fresh and new to our readers.

The first of these programs is our HR Achievement Awards, presented in partnership with Utah SHRM. Human Resources is probably one of the most thankless roles in corporate America. It encompasses drudgery like compliance with workplace, labor and IRS regulations (among others), and deep familiarity with the details of benefits and compensation. On the lighter side, it includes oversight of the corporate culture and a dose of party planning. Plus they get to be the company nag. (Please, everyone, fill out your open enrollment forms! Complete your tracking for our wellness program! Don't forget to submit your expenses!)
