Analog Devices Appoints AI Proponent & MIT Engineering Dean to its Board.

Analog Devices appointed Anantha Chandrakasan, MIT's school of engineering dean who is an artificial intelligence (AI) advocate, to its board.

"AI is everywhere," Chandrakasan said in an article on MIT News about the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab he helped establish after taking the dean's job in 2017. "It's used in just about every domain you can think of and is central to diverse fields, from image and speech recognition, to machine learning for disease detection, to drug discovery, to financial modeling for global trade."

In addition to co-chairing the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, Chandrakasan chairs the MIT-Sense Time Alliance on Artificial Intelligence and J-Clinic, the Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health at MIT.
